About Ragdolls

The beauty of the Ragdoll. Their big, bright blue eyes will capture you immediately. The name "Ragdoll" was given by the original breeder, Ann Baker. The cat was named a "Ragdoll" because of its tendency to go limp like a child's doll when held in a human's arms.

In appearance the Ragdoll is a well balanced cat, with no extreme features. They have moderately long legs and a long plumed tail.Their fur is "rabbit like", long and soft and tends to not mat. Shedding is minimal. Even though daily grooming is not required they enjoy being groomed. The Ragdoll is a very laid back cat and will be seen in the "flop" position looking completely relaxed. This breed loves their human companions like no other breed. They will greet you at the door, follow you around the house, flop in your lap and sleep with you. They love to be with you and are very soft spoken.

The Ragdoll has a slower rate of maturity. They reach full maturity at 3 to 4 years of age. An altered adult male may reach 15 to 20 pounds. The altered female tends to be about 10 to 15 pounds. Because the Ragdoll is a docile, non fighting cat they should not be allowed outside unattended.

Colors available:Seal, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Red, and Cream.

Patterns availabe:colorpoint, mitted, bi-color,tortie point and lynx point.

Ragdoll kittens are born white and develop their color and pattern as they age. Their full color development may not be evident until 2 to 3 years of age.
